Your tour today is an introduction to the splendor of the culture and mysticism of the ancient world. Leaving Athens, drive North, passing the towns of Thebes and Levadia and the charming village of Arachova. Continue to Mt. Parnassos to visit historical Delphi where the Sanctuary of Apollo stands for over 2600 years. Delphi was home to the famous Oracle, respected by the whole ancient world.You will see the Treasure Buildings, the sanctuary of Apollo and the Sacred Way. A short distance away is the Archaeological Museum where you can admire the bronze statue of the Charioteer, the Naxian Sphinx and the statue of Antinoos. Arrive at Arachova, the picturesque town built on the southern slopes of Parnassos with a small cataract and river at the outskirts of the town. Arachova is famous for hand woven rugs (called Flokati) and quilts as well as natural products such as wine and cheese.
Following a hort but interesting stop at Arachova you will proceed to the small village of Zemeno for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch you will return to Athens.
