Duration: 4 ½ hours
Departing from the pier your tour begins with a visit to the legendary ruins of Knossos. After a short drive through the town of Heraklion you will arrive at Knossos where Sir Arthur Evans's archaeological discoveries revealed a civilization dating back to 4000 BC, when a great empire flourished on the island of Crete. Based on the wealth of artefacts found, Evans theorized that this was the site of the ancient Minoan Kingdom.
These findings will be viewed in detail as an expert guide will lead you on a journey of discovery to learn of the sophisticated culture that flourished thousands of years ago. From here, continue to the Museum of Heraklion housing the treasures found at Knossos and lesser city states such as Phaestos.
